In the spring of 1999 thousands of Vietnamese people, Vietnam Veterans (American & South Vietnamese) along with many others from across America gathered for a three month long anti-communist protest in little Saigon, in Westminster California. It all started when a local Vietnamese video shop owner displayed a communist Vietnam flag and a large poster of Ho Chi Minh in his store front window proclaiming his love of communism. I covered the event for a Los Angeles newspaper. In the Freedom area you will find some of the photographs that I took during the protest. Soon I will be publishing the heart-wrenching stories of some of the people in the photographs. Slower systems give this page time to load. (click the flag to see photos!) |
